The artists I approached for the auction reflected on the the eclectic assortment of
objects sold in 1949. They included artists and designers I had previously worked with, artists whose work I knew and wanted to approach, as I felt they maybe interested in working with particular lots and artists living in the region or with connections to Kimbolton Castle.

The new commissioned work included: a contemporary piece of music derived from 1949 samples, glazed cases containing muffled sounds of animals (impersonated by the artist), an undeveloped role of film, a six foot bear, an architectural model, an unfamiliar board game, a strange taxidermy specimen, eighteen coloured table mats, fringed, and a quantity of d¹oyleys, odd serviettes, and pieces of linen.

The commissioned works were shown alongside original paintings from the Manchester Collection, a number of which had been borrowed from collections around the country. To view the work use the links on the catalogue page or visit the website for the Auctioneers Dreweatt Neate.
