A New Floating Cinema

We're pleased to say that today the competition was launched to design the new floating cinema! Karen and I are really excited to be working with UP projects again to select the team who'll work with us - creating a new boat to take the project forward into 2013, past the Olympics (!) and beyond ...

The competition is being managed by the Architecture Foundation and all the details are here.

Somewhere in Finland

This weekend we are lucky guests of the Finnish Institute, who have revisted our 2002 live webcast project TV swansong in a smart new publication - and as part of Helsinki's Pixelache (what a name -)) with input from digital diva Sarah Cook, we find ourselves having a little talk and book launch.

And just maybe a sauna too.

World Premiere

At last we're super pleased to announce that our third feature doc. Jaywick Escapes will have its premiere screening at the fantastic Sheffield Doc / Fest this year on the 13th and 14th of June. We're looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces there and to our long running work in Jaywick reaching an international audience for the first time.

Details of screenings all on the Doc / Fest website here.

Jaywick Designer ... ?

We're looking for an experienced designer to work with us developing the print materials and DVD design for our new film Jaywick Escapes ... if this could be you read on!

JAYWICK ESCAPES - film design publicity brief

Jaywick Escapes is the third independent feature documentary by artist / directors Karen Guthrie & Nina Pope (Somewhere). This summer the film premieres in the UK at a prestigious festival before a planned DVD release.
Somewhere is now recruiting an inspired designer or design practice to manage and deliver a distinctive visual identity for the film as it reaches distribution and outreach stages. The film website has been designed by theusefularts and the designer will be expected to liaise with the directors and web designer on ensuring a holistic treatment across the online and print media.
